MEASURING for OUTSIDE MOUNT

Horizontal Blinds - Pleated Shades - Verticals

Measurements for an outside mount should show the exact size of the finished blind. Measure the exact width and height to the  nearest 1/8 of an inch, of the area to be  covered.

Write down the width measurement followed by a "W"  and the height measurement followed by a "H". Be sure that you allow at lease 1 1/2 inches of overlap per side to assure privacy. For verticals, allow at least  2 1/2 inches per side.

At the top of the window make sure you allow 2 inches of overlap and for windows without a windowsill, make sure you allow at least 1 1/2 inches below the window. For verticals going all the way down to the  floor, measure down to the top of the carpet. Do not press down on the carpet pile.
